It’s been an awful season for Liverpool on the injury front.

Since the very beginning of the campaign, Jurgen Klopp has been missing a number of major players, often at the same time.

One of those is Naby Keita, who hasn’t kicked a ball for Liverpool all season long.

The former Leipzig midfielder, a £52 million signing in 2018 [Echo], has had his fair share of injury problems down the years at Anfield.

However, there’s finally a bit of good news.

According to James Pearce of The Athletic, Keita is finally fully fit again since Liverpool broke for the World Cup hiatus.

Peace, who exclusively covers the Reds, also added that the break has helped Joel Matip regain full fitness, too.

Liverpool are sixth in the Premier League table, seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Challenging Arsenal and Manchester City for the title is a massive pie in the sky right now, but qualifying for the Champions League will be the priority this season.

And no doubt that the return of Keita and Matip will help the Merseysiders in this endeavour.

Then again, only if they can stay fit.

These two are probably Liverpool’s most injury-prone footballers and it wouldn’t be a major shock if they broke down again soon.
