AC Milan and Napoli have both looked into the possibility of signing West Ham target Luka Jovic in January according to CalcioMercato.

The Italian outlet state that the Serbian forward is out of the plans at Real Madrid.

Milan and Napoli both reportedly looked into signing him in September, but now they’re being tipped to go back in for him in January.

This may throw a spanner in the works in terms of West Ham’s January plans as they’ve been linked with a move for Jovic this week.

The Hammers may yet end up landing the Serbian, but interest from two Italian giants will make their task that much harder.

Jovic would be a fantastic signing for the Hammers, due to the fact he could bring the best out of Sebastien Haller.

The pair know each other very well from their time at Eintracht Frankfurt, and they formed a prolific partnership that saw both of them earn big money moves abroad.

Jovic joined Real Madrid for a fee of around £50 million, while Haller became West Ham’s club-record signing last summer.

However, their careers have stalled since leaving the Bundesliga, and a reunion could be exactly what the doctor ordered for the pair of them.

Nobody would blame Jovic if he were to choose Milan or Napoli over West Ham in January though, as those two sides will likely once again be battling for a spot in the Champions League, while West Ham may well end up in a relegation dogfight.

David Moyes may have to look elsewhere in January if the Serie A sides formalise their interest in Jovic.
