Leicester City playmaker James Maddison was allegedly holding out for a move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
James Maddison is expected to leave Leicester City this summer in a deal likely to be worth at least £50million.
That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Maddison wanted a move to Spurs despite Newcastle chasing his signature.
It’s claimed that Spurs remain in the hunt for creativity and Maddison has huge supporters such as Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle.
Leicester may have gone down today but they are expected to still demand at least £50million for his signature.
Tottenham may still fancy that price and you could hardly blame them for asking the question after Leicester’s drop to the Championship was confirmed.

Tottenham must hope James Maddison still wants to join
A lot has changed since last summer.
Tottenham had just qualified for the Champions League and were looking upwardly mobile under Antonio Conte.
That has completely unraveled this season with Conte gone and Spurs missing out on Europe entirely.
Spurs don’t have a manager or a director of football right now and look completely rudderless.
Tottenham simply aren’t as attractive to top players as they were a year ago – and they will have real competition for Maddison.
The Mirror claimed just last week that Arsenal would like to sign Maddison and may even sacrifice Emile Smith Rowe to make a deal happen.
Arsenal have just challenged for the Premier League title and have Champions League action under Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners are more appealing than Spurs right now and the same goes for Newcastle, who remain interested in Maddison.
Tottenham must get their house in order and hope that Maddison still fancies joining this summer having missed out a year ago.
