Arsenal might be getting Mohamed Elneny back, according to a report.
The Egypt international was loaned out by the Gunners last season but his Besiktas career looks set to come to an end.
Turkish Football reported that the Arsenal midfielder is owed £533,000 in unpaid wages by his loan team.
And according to Milliyet in Turkey, an early return to North London is very much on the cards.
Similarly, Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius terminated his contract with the club recently over a pay dispute and is now back in England.
Karius isn’t permitted to train at Melwood [The Echo] and if Elneny returns to London Colney, it seems unlikely that he’ll be allowed to play for Arsenal until the 2019-20 campaign is finished.
Elneny earns £50,000 per week in North London [Spotrac] and he’ll be one of the players who Raul Sanllehi wants to move on during the summer.
That equates to over £2 million a year in salary and in times like these, Arsenal have to cut non-essential personnel at every facet of the club, and have already parted ways with 10 part-time scouts, The Mirror claimed last week.
Elneny joined the club under Arsene Wenger in 2016.
