According to The Sun, Axel Tuanzebe is keen to join Aston Villa on a permanent basis, after settling in the Midlands during his third loan spell.
What’s the story?
Well, the £50,000-a-week centre-back re-joined the Villans on a season-long loan from Manchester United over the summer.
Tuanzebe spent time on loan at Villa Park in 2019, helping Dean Smith’s side secure promotion back to the Premier League.
After a few injury-hit campaigns at Old Trafford, he is now back in the Midlands, and is keen to stay.
One source told The Sun that the 23-year-old is loving life back at Aston Villa, and appreciated the reception he received from supporters.
Should the chance of a permanent move arise, Tuanzebe would jump at it.
The Sun add that Tuanzebe believes he has a boss who trusts him in Smith, and would love to stay at Villa Park beyond this season.
Axel Tuanzebe would be a great signing for Aston Villa

In our view, Tuanzebe would be a fantastic signing for the Villans if he were to arrive on a permanent basis.
The England Under-21 international knows Aston Villa well, and is clearly liked by Smith and the supporters.
In a footballing sense, he’s also a fine option to have, and one with plenty of time to get even better at just 23 years of age.

Tuanzebe – who Gary Lineker called quick and confident – also has plenty of Champions League experience.
He even shackled Kylian Mbappe last season as Manchester United beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 last term.
Villa aren’t exactly blessed with many centre-backs, so this would also be a necessary deal for Smith to add the required depth to his squad.
As long as Ole Gunner Solskjaer doesn’t make a potential deal too expensive, Tuanzebe would be an excellent addition.
