Charlie Austin isn’t convinced by a potential move to Derby County and wants to fight for his place at Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion, according to the Express and Star.
Just like Kamil Grosicki, the seldom-seen winger who’s desperate to force his way into Slaven Bilic’s plans, Austin isn’t giving up on his top-flight status yet.
The £4 million frontman hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League football since West Brom returned to the big time.
He has even been left out of the matchday squad for each of the Baggies’ past three games, including Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Southampton.
But Austin is no quitter.
And, while a goal-shy Derby side would offer him the chance to play regular first-team football, the 31-year-old is desperate to prove he can play a part in West Brom’s survival bid.

Don’t expect the Rams to give up that easily, though.
Phillip Cocu’s underperforming side might have beaten early title favourites Norwich City on Saturday but the fact remains that, in five Championship games, they have scored just once from open play.
And Austin’s track record in the second tier is better than most.
The battle-scarred striker fired West Brom to promotion with ten goals in 2019/20 and did the same with QPR six years ago.
