Football Scotland claim Calvin Ramsay is now open to leaving Aberdeen this summer – with Liverpool leading Tottenham and Newcastle in the £4million race to land the Scottish Premiership wonderkid.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2021-22 campaign with the Dons, having a hand in 10 goals in 33 games. Scoring only one, he laid on nine assists. His 33 outings this season came after only six prior outings.

Reports claim that Ramsay could only be days away from leaving Aberdeen and now, the latest report states he is keen on leaving Pittodrie. All signs point towards an imminent £4million exit for the defender.

Football Scotland say Liverpool are leading the race to nab the Scotland Under-21 international, despite interest from Newcastle and Tottenham. The Reds want him to play back-up to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

It is a bargain signing. Ramsay is a proper talent and to lay on nine assists in 33 games for Aberdeen in what is the beginning stage of his senior professional career is quite remarkable.

Liverpool love their full-backs to get forward and create – Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have been doing it for some time now. They are almost the most-important players on the pitch for the Reds.

Clearly, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool see potential in Ramsay to be able to coax that out of him at the top level. For £4million, at 18, the Reds are getting themselves a potential gem for next to nothing.
