Thiago Alcantara could yet join Liverpool this summer, according to Sport BILD.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be a huge fan of Thiago, with Liverpool right at the front of the queue to sign him.
Thiago is said to have two options this summer – return to Barcelona or join Liverpool.
The Spaniard’s contract at Bayern Munich expires next year, and the German club could now cash in on him.
Liverpool would reportedly have to pay £45 million for Thiago’s services, but that could yet prove a bargain fee for a player of his ability.
Whether the Reds could finance a deal for the 29-year-old remains to be seen.
However, Thiago’s past words on Liverpool do suggest that a move to Anfield could well appeal to him.
“I love watching English football. It’s the league I most enjoy. And the national team have undergone a good transition: they have a very good team,” Thiago said to the Guardian in 2018.
“Look at Liverpool’s midfield: Henderson, Milner, Chamberlain, they pressed like animals in the Champions League. They ate up the midfield. They were fantastic.”
If Thiago was to join Liverpool he would certainly add creativity to their squad, and could prove an excellent addition to Klopp’s side.
