It’s fair to say Liverpool need some of their heavy hitters back as soon as possible.
Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have both been missing for nearly two months and their double absence has undeniably hindered Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Liverpool are sixth in the Premier League standings, a massive 15 points adrift of Arsenal at the summit.
Even with Diaz and Jota back, the Gunners might be too far ahead at this point, but making up the seven-point deficit to Spurs in fourth place will be the focus for now.
Problem is, Jota, a £45 million signing in 2020 [Athletic], is unlikely to be back until February.

At least, that’s what James Pearce of The Athletic has written, in reference to the Portugal international’s calf problem sustained against Manchester City.
Pearce added in the publication that despite a poor, albeit medium-term, prognosis, Jota will travel to Dubai with his Liverpool teammates for the warm weather training camp.
The good news is, according to the same journalist, Diaz is set to resume full training under Klopp ahead of his return to senior action.
Liverpool continue their Premier League campaign on Boxing Day with a visit to Aston Villa.
