Tottenham considered Jeremy Toljan before moving for Serge Aurier.

Tottenham Hotspur could get a close look at the defender they passed on signing this summer when they take on Borussia Dortmund this evening.
Dortmund are experiencing an injury crisis which has left them with just 20 available players to choose from.

The Germany under-21 international had only one year remaining on his contract at Hoffenheim.
Spurs dallied, and Dortmund stole in to sign him for a bargain £4.5 million.

Tottenham’s late deal to sign Serge Aurier at five times the price showed they had other plans, and they hope by spending more they have brought in a superior player.
Toljan has yet to feature for Dortmund but he is under consideration for starting at either left-back or right-back against Spurs this evening.
It would be a big game for him to be handed a debut, but Dortmund are thin on options, and Toljan could not ask for a bigger test.
