Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has told the club that he wants to leave for Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

Martin Dubravka wants to leave Newcastle United for Manchester United

The report has claimed that Newcastle and Manchester United are in talks over the transfer of goalkeeper Dubravka, who earns £44,000 per week as salary (SalarySport) at the moment.

The Red Devils want to sign the 33-year-old Slovakia international on loan with an option to buy next summer, but Newcastle want a permanent sale now and want £5 million in transfer fees, according to the report.

The Daily Mail have added that Dubravka fears that Newcastle’s stance will see him not get his ‘dream move’ to the Red Devils, and that he has pleaded with the Magpies to let him leave now.

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, Newcastle United hold all the cards in regard to Martin Dubravka potentially moving to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

After all, the Magpies are not exactly a club who need to sell players to raise funds.

If the Red Devils do not pay the £5 million that they are looking for, then Newcastle could simply just keep the Slovakian in their squad for this season.
