According to the Manchester Evening News, Martin Dubravka rejected the chance to swap Newcastle for Manchester United on deadline day.
What’s the story?
Well, this would’ve been quite the story involving Newcastle and Manchester United.
The Manchester Evening News believe the Red Devils were prepared to accept a swap deal involving Dubravka and Dean Henderson.
It would’ve seen both glovesman swap sides on loan until the end of the season.
However, Dubravka – who earns £44,000-a-week – declined the move to Old Trafford, where he would’ve been backup to David de Gea.
If regular starts are what the Slovakian is after, then he made the right choice as he was named in between the sticks against Everton last night.
It was the 33-year-old’s tenth Premier League start of the season.
Martin Dubravka better off at Newcastle than Manchester United

For many players, a club like Manchester United is hard to turn down.
However, Dubravka certainly made the right decision, and he deserves praise for wanting to play rather than sit on the sidelines.
In Henderson’s case, however, he’s probably devastated that Dubravka decided to stay at Newcastle.

The 24-year-old has only made three appearances this season, with none coming in the Premier League, and the Red Devils are now out of both domestic cup competitions.
Unless Ralf Rangnick opts to choose him in the Champions League – which we can’t envisage happening – Henderson may not kick a ball until the end of the season.
