Liverpool continue to chase Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, with The Mirror reporting Roma want £42 million.
That is an increase from the previous touted £38 million, but Roma hold the cards in a transfer market which is spiralling out of control.
One positive for the Reds is that Roma have already identified a potential replacement, one who is familiar to Liverpool fans.
Liverpool’s Suso
Italian transfer guru Gianluca di Marzio reports Roma are keen on signing Suso, who was at Liverpool between 2012 and 2015.
He never quite established himself in the first team at Anfield but has begun to blossom at AC Milan. He has though been unable to agree terms on a new contract.
Last season he scored seven goals and provided nine assists for Milan.

Milan are making big moves in the transfer market themselves and Di Marzio reports they are open to selling the Spaniard if his contract saga drags on unresolved.
Suso showed glimpses of promise at Liverpool, but his biggest contribution to the Reds could finally be provided the reassurance for Roma to sell Salah if they are confident of acquiring his signature with the proceeds.
