Tottenham Hotspur might be set for good and bad news with regards to one reported transfer target.
Guillem Balague revealed via his YouTube channel last month that Spurs have asked Barcelona about signing right-back Nelson Semedo, valued at £40 million [Sport].
It has since been reported that Barca could use him as a makeweight in a summer deal for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
But according to Mundo Deportivo, the reported Tottenham target does not want a move to Italy and would much prefer a switch to the Premier League.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that the same report from Mundo also claims that the Portugese defenders wants to join Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
If City are in the mix then it’ll be ever so difficult for the North Londoners to compete; not only because the Sky Blues can offer him much better personal terms, but life at the Etihad is still arguably more attractive for a player than life at Tottenham under Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho hasn’t had much time to develop his project with the Lilywhites, following the global health emergency, but even still, turning down Guardiola and Eastlands is a tall order for any player.
