Newcastle United target Tiemoue Bakayoko is now ‘almost certain’ to leave Chelsea this summer, according to Le10 Sport.

The same publication claimed earlier this week that Newcastle wanted the defensive midfielder, and their latest update could well be good news for the Magpies.

Bakayoko is said to be edging even closer to the Chelsea exit, and his departure is now reportedly almost an inevitability.

The £40 million midfielder (Sky) has plenty of options though, which means Newcastle are unlikely to get a clear run to land him.

Bakayoko is said to be ‘really attracted’ over a return to Italy, with AC Milan keen.

PSG are also linked with the defensive midfielder, which means Newcastle may have some convincing to do to get him to move to St. James’ Park.

Bakayoko’s previous appearances in the Premier League haven’t been particularly convincing.

However, he would add more steel to Newcastle’s midfield and his energy would help improve Steve Bruce’s options in the middle of the park.
