Liverpool would have to pay far more than £40 million to sign Ismaila Sarr this summer, according to the Watford Observer.
The local paper claims that they have been told that £40 million would not even buy Sarr’s left-leg, amid rumours that Liverpool want him.
The Daily Mail have suggested that Jurgen Klopp’s side have the rapid winger on their radar, but any deal seems a long way off, given Watford’s valuation of the 22-year-old.
Liverpool may have been hoping to pick up Sarr cheaply following Watford’s relegation to the Championship, but the Hornets are under no pressure to sell and the player is happy to stay.
If Sarr does stick around at Watford there is a feeling that he could do some serious damage at Championship level, and fire them back to the Premier League quickly.

Liverpool, meanwhile, may have to look at other attacking targets – if Klopp does want to find a winger.
Liverpool will surely feel that Sarr is too expensive, if even a £40 million bid would be rejected, given Klopp’s apparently limited budget this summer.
