The Hull City man could be a useful addition to the Newcastle United squad this summer.
According to the Sun, £4 million could be enough to tempt Hull into selling Sam Clucas, with Rafa Benitez set to step up his interest in the 26-year-old midfielder.
The Magpies boss has been rather outspoken on his frustrations concerning the lack of new arrivals at St James’ Park this summer, but a deal for the Tigers ace could change all of that in an instant.
Clucas was a permanent feature in Hull’s Premier League campaign last term, making 37 league appearances for his side, contributing with three goals and an assist.

It is the manner in which he conducts himself on the pitch, and delivers 100 per cent commitment week-in week-out that is the most impressive aspect of his game, however.
The left-footed midfielder would provide more balance to the Magpies’ engine room, and he could form a wonderful partnership with Jonjo Shelvey in the heart of Newcastle’s midfield.
Rafa could bring him to St James’ Park for substantially less than first thought, with the Sun now reporting that the Humberside outfit could be tempted to do business for just £4 million.
And in today’s day and age, that would represent fantastic value for the Tyneside outfit, should a move come to fruition.
