Reported Tottenham target Ivan Perisic has reportedly hit a financial roadblock in renewing his deal with Inter Milan.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Croatian international has been proposed a new two-year contract worth €4m (£3.4m).

However, Perisic wants a three-year deal with an annual wage of €5 (£4.2m), the salary the 32-year-old currently earns with Inter.

As per the report, Perisic is happy in Italy and under new Inter manager Simone Inzaghi. But, this disagreement in wage and contract length could push the attacker out the exit door in January. And Spurs are keen on the winger.

L’Interista reported earlier in the month that Tottenham want Perisic, with the club even said to be in talks with the winger.

The former VfL Wolfsburg star featured heavily under Antonio Conte in their two years together in Milan, with the duo winning the Scudetto last season. And now it looks like the Italian manager is eager to be reunited with his former attacker.

Inter signing Perisic to new deal won’t be huge blow for Spurs

The winger is a player Conte is keen to bring to Tottenham with him in the January transfer window. However, Inter tying Perisic down to a new contract won’t be the end of the world for Spurs.

Whilst the Croat would be a solid option for the north London side, Conte and Fabio Paratici would be better off looking to sign a young attacker who won’t become one of the club’s highest earners at 32-years-old.
