Celtic are in talks over a £3 million deal for Motherwell’s David Turnbull and he will be left out of the squad for his side’s Europa League qualifier on Thursday, according to the Daily Record.
Imagine, in the final episode of Friends, that Rachel had decided to stay aboard that flight to Paris after all.
Celtic fans everywhere understood how Ross would have felt as a transfer saga which almost redefined the phrase ‘on again, off again’ ended in heartbreak.
A failed medical prevented Turnbull from becoming a Celtic player at the eleventh hour.
But, 12 months on, Rachel is on her way back across the Atlantic and Turnbull is packing his bags for Parkhead.
According to the Record, the highly-rated goal-scoring midfielder will be left at home as Motherwell take to the pitch for their first European fixture in six years – a qualification clash with Irish outfit Glentoran.
Turnbull was even left out of training on Wednesday as light appears at the end of a long and winding tunnel.

The Scotland U21 international shot to fame during the 2018/19 season, producing a remarkable 16 goals and seven assists in 34 games before being named the SFWA Young Player of the Year.
“I think he’s been excellent. Obviously Celtic have been monitoring him for a while and he’s a top young player so I think it’d be good if we could get him in,” current Hoops star Callum McGregor told FourFourTwo this week when asked a man who could challenge for his place in midfield.
“His style of play is similar to myself. You want to do everything in the game and chip in with goals and assists as well.
“So he is definitely a young, exciting talent and all the right noises are coming from everywhere. Everybody likes him, he’s a good kid as well and to get him in would be good for Celtic.”
