John Kennedy’s chances of becoming Celtic boss have apparently increased due to ‘uncertainty behind the scenes’, Give Me Sport report.

Kennedy has taken caretaker charge of Celtic over the back end of the campaign since Neil Lennon departed.

When the 37-year-old was initially appointed it was widely anticipated that he would just be placed in charge on a temporary basis.

But Celtic have found it difficult to find Lennon’s replacement, with their search taking months to complete.

That has apparently increased the likelihood of Kennedy getting the job so much that he is now considered to be a contender.

Celtic reportedly don’t want to go into the summer transfer window with no manager in place, which would obviously affect their transfer plans as a club.

If Kennedy was to be given sole charge it would be a controversial move at Parkhead.

While the Celtic interim boss is regarded as a strong coach, he has very little managerial experience.

With the Bhoys now needing to close the gap at Rangers, the job at Parkhead could be a tough one and it is commonly felt that a more experienced head may be needed if the Bhoys are going to be back challenging for the title next term.
