Valencia officially say that Rodrigo is nursing a knock, so is unable to partake in training with his teammates, but it is another intriguing development – as Leeds’ interest mounts.
The latest reports in Spain suggest that Andrea Radrizzani is now in Valencia negotiating to get a deal done for Rodrigo.
Valencia initially wanted £36 million for the 29-year-old striker, but Leeds think they can get a discount on that, due to the La Liga outfit’s need for funds.
And there seems to be a confidence in Spain that a deal could be done to bring the experienced forward to Elland Road.
If Rodrigo does sign for Leeds his arrival really would highlight the ambition of Marcelo Bielsa’s newly promoted side.
