Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have now been linked with Sadio Mane, who Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool sold last summer.
According to Bild, Newcastle United are interested in signing former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
The report in the German publication has claimed that Newcastle would be able to pay the transfer fee that Bayern would want for Mane and would be able to afford the forward’s €22 million per year (£362,000-a-week) salary.
Newcastle, though, have yet to make an official offer.
Bild have added that Bayern are open to selling Mane just a year after signing him from Liverpool for £27.5 million (SkySports).
Although the Senegal international forward wants to stay at Bayern, he is open to a move to Newcastle and would fancy the chance of playing for the Magpies in the Premier League and competing in the UEFA Champions League, according to the report.

Should Newcastle United bid for Sadio Mane?
In our opinion, Newcastle United should at least consider a move for Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane.
Now, while the 31-year-old has had not the best of times at Bayern this past season, we know how good he was for Southampton and Liverpool.
One disappointing campaign affected by injuries does not mean that Mane is on the way down.
After all, Real Madrid are interested in Mane.
Newcastle will play in the UEFA Champions League next season, and the Magpies will also aim to finish in the Premier League top four.
Mane would add goals to the Newcastle team and would make Eddie Howe’s side more potent and threatening in attack.
Mane scored seven goals and gave five assists in 18 Bundesliga starts for Bayern last season, while in 2021-22, he scored 16 goals and provided two assists in 32 Premier League starts for Liverpool.
