Arsenal and Tottenham will miss out on Monaco’s Lemar, and it’s Chelsea’s fault.
Monaco’s Thomas Lemar celebrates
Tottenham and Arsenal face disappointment in their efforts to sign Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, and it is thanks to Chelsea, according to The Telegraph.
The Telegraph report Monaco will not let both Lemar and Tiemoue Bakayoko leave this summer, deciding only one will be sold.
And Bakayoko is on the verge of a £35 million move to Chelsea, meaning their London rivals will be denied the chance to sign Lemar.
The Mail reported at the weekend a fee has been agreed between Chelsea and Monaco for Bakayoko, with the midfielder expected to travel to England this week.
Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko is Chelsea bound
Monaco have already sold playmaker Bernardo Silva to Manchester City this summer and are battling to keep hold of Kylian Mbappe.
The Sun reported recently that both Tottenham and Arsenal are keen on signing Lemar. Spurs are 10/11 on with SkyBet to sign the winger.
Lemar scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions for Monaco this past season, helping them to win the Ligue 1 title.
