A move to the Premier League is unlikely for Everton and Aston Villa linked winger Jose Callejon with AreaNapoli reporting that the Serie A veteran would prefer a return to his native Spain instead.
Ever since Carlo Ancelotti brought his esteemed tactical mind and expressive eyebrows to Goodison Park, the Toffees have been tipped to reunite so many pupils with their old master.
James Rodriguez, Kalidou Koulibaly, Hirving Lozano, Allan and more are all Everton targets, according to various reports. Though while deals for the aforementioned quartet look unlikely with many a Premier League club tightening their purse strings, Callejon could be snapped up for next to nothing.
The 33-year-old forward is a free agent in July and, try as they might, Napoli have failed to tie him down to a new deal.

But although Callejon and Ancelotti have a good relationship after spending almost 18 months together at Napoli, do not expect to see the former Real Madrid winger making those trademark back post runs at Goodison Park next season.
AreaNapoli claims that, after seven years in Naples, Callejon has made a return to Spain his top priority, putting a potential move to Everton on the B list.
That is not exactly a dagger to the heart of Everton’s plans, however. Director of football Marcel Brands has other targets, the report points out.
Aston Villa are also interested in Callejon. But they too look set to miss out on a five-time Spain international who has his heart set on a summer homecoming.
