Stoke City striker Lee Gregory is keen to join Championship rivals Derby County before tonight’s transfer deadline, as reported by the Daily Mail.
It has been a decent start to the day for the Rams.
Highly rated Manchester United defender Teden Mengi has arrived, Rangers defender George Edmundson is on his way and it seems a goal-shy Derby side will end the day with a new centre-forward in their ranks too.
The Mail reports 32-year-old Gregory wants to work under the legendary Wayne Rooney at Pride Park.
Derby are closing in on a short-term loan deal for the Stoke striker, who was also a target for second-tier rivals Huddersfield Town.

Gregory has scored just seven times in 47 games since moving to the Potteries in 2019 but, if he can rediscover the form he showed at Millwall, the wily forward could be the poacher Derby need as they look to put further space between themselves and the relegation zone.
Gregory hit double figures in each of his Championship campaigns at the Den.
The late-blooming, Sheffield-born forward hasn’t made a matchday squad since late November.
