Callum Wilson would sign for Newcastle United, but only if he was offered wages of over £75,000-a-week, the Chronicle suggest.
Newcastle have been strongly linked with Wilson, but affording a deal for the Bournemouth front-man could be problematic.
Bournemouth want £30 million, which may take him out of Newcastle’s price-range already.
Wilson’s high wage demands now make the transfer look even more unlikely.
Newcastle are working with a limited budget after their failed takeover, and even though Steve Bruce feels that getting Wilson would help him, the deal looks very difficult to complete, despite the player’s apparent willingness to move to St. James’ Park.
If Wilson was to sign at Newcastle he would make an exciting addition to their current squad, though.
Newcastle badly struggled for goals last term, with Jonjo Shelvey finishing as their top scorer.
But the addition of Wilson’s pace would make Newcastle even more of a threat on the break, and he could form a very dangerous attacking unit with the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron.
