Yves Bissouma to Arsenal has reportedly just become a little more likely to happen.
Last week, The Daily Star reported that Arsenal were favourites to pip their Premier League rivals to the signing of the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder.
Earlier this year, Football London claimed that the 24-year-old had his heart set on a move to the Emirates Stadium.
And there’s been a new development which suits Arsenal if, of course, they are genuinely interested.
According to The Times, Bissouma has asked the Seagulls for permission to leave the club at the end of this season.
Albion only have three Premier League games left but it looks like Bissouma is already looking at life beyond the Amex Stadium, if The Times are right.
Good signing for Arsenal?
If it happens, yes it’s absolutely a good signing.
The £30 million-rated midfielder has a dynamism and mobility that Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny lack in a big way.
Thomas Partey hasn’t enjoyed a brilliant first season in North London following a £45 million October move from Atletico Madrid.
But the big Ghana international could and probably would benefit in a big way by playing alongside Bissouma.
Xhaka has his strengths, but lord knows he also has his weaknesses and it’s plausible that the former Atletico powerhouse would perform to a higher standard with a quicker midfield partner.
