Reported Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni is now on the radar for Spanish giants and European rivals Real Madrid.

According to Marca, the France international is ‘attracting attention’ from Los Blancos. Madrid are eager to sign a long-term replacement for Casemiro. And the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners have identified Tchouameni as a potential option.

As reported by Corriere Dello Sport, Liverpool are also keen on the AS Monaco star, who could be allowed to leave the Ligue 1 side for a fee of €35m (£30m). Tchouameni has often been compared to his France international teammate Paul Pogba.

The midfielder has enjoyed a meteoric rise since joining Monaco in 2020. Tchouameni recently started the UEFA Nations League final for Les Bleus. And the youngster could well be one of the new mainstays in Didier Deschamps’ side after impressing this international break.

Indeed, Juventus are also keen on the 21-year-old midfielder. And all signs are pointing to Tchouameni being the latest big name from France to become the centre of attention for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Liverpool, though, can argue that they have a strong case for wanting to sign Tchouameni over Madrid. The Reds failed to find a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum in the summer. Furthermore, the Monaco star could be an excellent option to take over the Dutch international.

The young French prospect has won plaudits for his fantastic athleticism and ability to retain the ball in midfield well. Moreover, Tchouameni is a player who wins the ball back with surprising regularity despite his frame suggesting he is more suited to more creative and attacking football.

At 21, Tchouameni has already established himself as a great defensive midfielder. And at Liverpool, the French international could further develop his game to become a more well-rounded player alongside fellow youngsters Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott.
