According to the Press Association, West Ham United are keen on signing Norwich City full back Max Aarons this summer.
It’s claimed that Norwich are likely to demand £30million for Aarons, given that they have just won promotion back to the Premier League and aren’t exactly in need of cash.
Still, Norwich promised Aarons that he would be allowed to leave in 2021, and they are expected to keep their word and let him go.
Everton are also keen, but Aarons allegedly wants to stay in the South, meaning he may prefer West Ham to the Toffees.
Tottenham have held a long-standing interest in Aarons, and it’s stated that Jose Mourinho’s sacking on Monday is unlikely to change that, possibly even helping the cause given his concerns over Aarons’ height.
Aarons, 21, has started 42 league games this season, notching one goal and one assist as he played an important role in Daniel Farke’s promotion push.
Aarons is diminutive but quick and exciting going forward, and with a bright future ahead of him, it’s no surprise that clubs are now interested.
West Ham do already have a star right back though with Vladimir Coufal a key man, so it is a surprise to hear of the interest in Aarons, but he would still be an exciting capture if the Hammers can pull off a deal.
