Sadio Mane does not fancy a move to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United amid interest from Chelsea, according to a report.

Bild journalist Christian Falk has reported in CaughtOffside that Mane does not want to move to Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

Now, there are no credible reports claiming that Newcastle actually want to sign the Senegal international forward who left Liverpool for Bayern Munich last summer.

Chelsea have been linked with the 31-year-old, with Football Insider claiming that the Blues are planning to make an offer.

Sadio Mane does not fancy Newcastle United transfer

Falk wrote: “I can tell you categorically that Bayern will not allow Coman to be sold, but the situation with Sadio Mané and Serge Gnabry is different.

“After his issue with Leroy Sané, Mané now has problems with his team-mates, and furthermore, his level of performance has disappointed Thomas Tuchel.

“Bayern are hoping for an offer from Chelsea – offers from Premier League clubs are welcome in Munich (!) – but there are no seriously interested parties at this stage.

“Any potential interest from Newcastle doesn’t appeal to Mané either.”

Newcastle unlikely to pursue a transfer deal

In our view, Newcastle United are unlikely to try to sign Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

Now, we know how good Mane was in the Premier League.

The £306,000-a-week (SalarySport) forward was a big player for Liverpool and was key in them winning the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League under manager Jurgen Klopp.

However, Mane is not having the best of seasons at Bayern and has also had injury problems.

That Bayern are reportedly willing to sell the forward after just one season suggests that they do not think that he is going to be a useful player for them in the future.

That should indicate to Newcastle not to pursue a deal for the former Southampton star.
