Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will become a free agent at the end of the season when his current contract with Liverpool runs out, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on Twitter that there are no talks going on between Liverpool and Oxlade-Chamberlain at the moment.

Romano has claimed that the English midfielder will leave the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners next summer when his current contract runs out.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2017 when they signed him from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The Reds paid £35 million for Oxlade-Chamberlain, who was then 24, according to Sky Sports.

Now 29, Oxlade-Chamberlain has had injury problems during his time at Liverpool and has not really made a massive impact on Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Yes, the Englishman has won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League with Liverpool, but the Reds would have won those trophies even without him.

It will be interesting to see which club Oxlade-Chamberlain goes to next season when he leaves Liverpool at the end of the season.
