According to Fotospor, Danny Rose was all set to leave Tottenham and join Trabzonspor in January, but COVID-19 ruined the proposed transfer.
The Turkish news outlet state that the 29-cap England international had agreed personal terms with the Super Lig outfit.
However, those coming to Turkey from England are required to enter a seven-day quarantine period.
As Fotospor state, there were only three days remaining of the window to complete the deal, so medical examinations couldn’t take place before a contract was signed.
As a result, the 30-year-old was forced to stay in north London, where he has been completely frozen out by Jose Mourinho.

The Doncaster-born full-back hasn’t played a single second of first-team football this season.
Rose has made just two appearances in the Premier League 2 this term, and is entirely surplus to requirements at Spurs.
Amazingly, he last played for the north Londoners on January 11th 2020, according to Transfermarkt.

Furthermore, his contract with Tottenham expires in June.
In our view, there’s absolutely no chance of him receiving an extension.
In that respect, Spurs will probably be quite annoyed that a deal didn’t go through, as they will now need to pay his £60,000-a-week wages for a few more months.
