Arsenal’s William Saliba has been unimpressive in training, according to sources ESPN have at London Colney.
Saliba has recently been loaned out by Arsenal to Nice, with Mikel Arteta ignoring the young central defender since he signed.
Saliba cost Arsenal a sizeable fee of £28 million to sign (Daily Mirror), and his arrival sparked great excitement at the Emirates Stadium.
However, Arteta opted to consistently leave him out of Arsenal’s starting line-up, even when they were badly struggling for form.
The reasons for Saliba’s continued omissions have never really been disclosed.
But sources have apparently communicated that some unimpressive training performances have played their part in him being overlooked.

ESPN claim that Saliba’s positioning has been caused concern among many at Arsenal, with a number of staff feeling he has a lot to learn before he is ready to start on a regular basis in the Premier League.
Saliba made his debut for Nice last night, but he didn’t get off to the best start, as his new side were beaten 2-0 by Brest.
