Daniel Sturridge has found it hard to establish himself as a first-team regular at Liverpool over the past two years.
A report emanating from Spain today claims that Real Betis are interested in taking Reds hitman Daniel Sturridge on a six-month loan deal with an option to buy, and that the 28-year-old is pushing for the move, according to Spanish media outlet El Gol Digital.
The 26-capped England international’s career has been hampered by injuries, and he has played a peripheral role in Liverpool’s campaign so far this season, scoring just three goals in 13 outings in all competitions, with only five of those appearances being starts.
Sturridge quite clearly hasn’t impressed Jürgen Klopp, since the German’s appointment as manager at Anfield just over two years ago, and a move away from Merseyside would surely be seen as an ideal solution for both the club and the player.
El Gol Digital claim that La Liga could be the 28-year-old striker’s next destination, with Betis leading the race to sign him on loan in January, with a view to making the move permanent in the summer.
With the opening of the January transfer window just around the corner, this will be one for Liverpool fans to keep a close eye on.
