Liverpool coaches have apparently been impressed by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s performances in a number 10 role in training, the Liverpool Echo suggest.
They claim that Liverpool are not planning to bring in another attacker this summer, even if Divock Origi or Xherdan Shaqiri depart.
Part of the reason for that is due to the belief that Oxlade-Chamberlain could have a role to play in a more attacking slot.
When Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Liverpool from Arsenal he felt that his best role was in central midfield.
However, it seems that he could be deployed as attacking cover again next term.
A big season
Oxlade-Chamberlain was used very infrequently by Jurgen Klopp last season, after suffering with injury over the early part of the campaign.

The 27-year-old did serve up a reminder of his quality late on in the season though, as he netted an excellent goal against Burnley in Liverpool’s penultimate game.
If Oxlade-Chamberlain is given an attacking role at Liverpool then he will certainly have a point to prove.
The England international has never really progressed into a star at Liverpool, with injury problems thwarting his development.
And if he struggles again next campaign then his future at Anfield will surely come into question.
