Mo Besic is hoping to secure a move to another Premier League club this summer with Carlo Ancelotti unlikely to hand the Bosnian international a fresh start at Everton, according to the Liverpool Echo.
If the most miserable and directionless of performances away at Wolves is anything to go by, The Toffees could do with a midfielder like Besic.
A £4.5 million signing who moved to Merseyside after man-marking Lionel Messi at the 2014 World Cup, the Berlin-born 27-year-old possesses the energy and bite that Everton were so badly lacking as they suffered a 3-0 thumping at Molineux.
But it seems that, even after an impressive loan spell at Sheffield United, Besic will not be handed an opportunity to stake a claim for himself at the heart of a lightweight midfield.
The Echo claims that Ancelotti has no plans to include the former Ferencvaros man in his first team squad next season.
Besic is up for sale, though loan bids will also be considered again.
He wants to stay in the Premier League and you would think that someone would be willing to take a chance on a 43-time international – especially as Besic appears to have put the injury problems which wrecked his early days in England behind him.
His most recent appearance in Everton colours came during a 3-0 Europa League win at Apollon Limassol almost three years ago – a game in which Kevin Mirallas, Fraser Hornby and Davy Klaassen also started.
So much has changed at Everton since then. But, strangely enough, everything also feels exactly the same.
