Liverpool supporters around the world might be dreading this summer’s transfer window.
That’s because the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah could potentially be subjects of transfer speculation.
Both have been massive players for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool down the years.
However, the duo are out of contract at Anfield in 2023 and if neither has signed a contract extension come June, well prepare for daily speculation.
Another player – albeit less important than the pair – destined to be written about a lot in the coming months is Divock Origi.
The Belgian striker is out of contract on Merseyside this summer and according to an Italian journalist, Napoli is a potential destination.
Paolo Esposito told Area Napoli that the 26-year-old Liverpool forward could move to Serie A in what would be a £2.4 million-a-year contract, over four years.
He said: “Azzurri could take the flexible striker Origi, 26, expiring in 3 months with Liverpool. It would be a good deal to take him on a free transfer. I think an agreement could be reached for a four-year [deal] at €3m a year.”
If you’re Origi, this isn’t a very attractive proposition.
Those figures only equate to around £50,000 per week and in this climate, the former Lille marksman will probably feel that he can get bigger money at a bigger club.
Not that Napoli are a small outfit, but he’s already on £60,000 per week at Liverpool [Spotrac] and taking a wage cut doesn’t make massive sense when you’re coming into the prime of your career.
