Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela has been ruled out of Jose Mourinho’s side clash against Crystal Palace, but Football London claim that there are hopes that Tanguy Ndombele could return.
Ndombele was a late withdrawal from the North London derby, after the Frenchman picked up a problem in the build up to the game.
Ndombele would surely have started for Spurs if he was fit, but instead he had to perform a watching brief, as his teammates picked up a 2-0 victory.
There has been very little news on the 23-year-old’s injury problem, but Football London suggest that it is a minor one.
That is a boost for Spurs, as Ndombele has been so key for them this season.
Ndombele appears to have gained the trust of Mourinho and he has featured regularly in all competitions.
If Ndombele is fit to feature against Palace he may well come straight back into Tottenham’s team, as Giovani Lo Celso was solid without being spectacular against Arsenal.
Lamela, meanwhile, has missed a sizeable chunk of the campaign and Tottenham will now be hoping that the £25 million winger (Independent) is not set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Lamela’s time at Spurs has been plagued with injury, and while he is not a permanent starter for Mourinho’s side, he is a useful option to have around to come off the bench.
