Morgan Gibbs-White has turned down Frank Lampard’s Everton to move to Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest from Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph journalist John Percy.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on Twitter that last night Everton matched the £25 million fee that Nottingham Forest are paying to Wolves for Gibbs-White.

However, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder wants/wanted to play for Forest manager Steve Cooper and has decided to move to the City Ground.

Forest have announced this morning that they have completed the signing of Gibbs-White from Wolves.

BBC Sport have reported that the Reds are paying Wolves an initial transfer fee of £25 million for the England Under-21 international playmaker.

Good signing for the Reds

In our view, Morgan Gibbs-White is a good signing for Nottingham Forest and will make the Reds better in attacking midfield.

The 22-year-old did well during his loan spell at Sheffield United in the Championship last season, and he could take that form to the Premier League.

Moreover, if Forest do get relegated at the end of the season, then they will know that they have a player who is proven at the Championship club and will be able to bring them back up.

Gibbs-White scored 12 goals and gave 10 assists in 35 Championship starts for the Blades last season.
