Chelsea may have to axe Tottenham Hotspur target Kurt Zouma to land Jose Gimenez, according to the Telegraph.
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be extremely keen on signing Zouma this summer, with the Daily Express suggesting that Spurs are confident of getting a £25 million move completed for the Frenchman.
Chelsea may have been reluctant to sell to a direct rival, but if they are to fund their own transfer plans they may have little choice, according to the latest reports.
The Telegraph suggest that Lampard’s side are likely to need to offload one of their current centre-back options, if they are to bring in Gimenez from Atletico Madrid.
That could play right into Tottenham’s hands, as they look to strike a deal for Zouma.
The powerful defender is a player Mourinho knows well, from his own time at Stamford Bridge, and he could help Tottenham to tighten up at the back next term.

Zouma has arguably been Chelsea’s best defender in recent weeks, even if Lampard’s side have had their own defensive issues this term.
If Zouma was to move to Tottenham he would be in competition with the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier for a starting place.
