Brenden Aaronson is now expected to leave Leeds United this summer due to a release clause in his contract.
Leeds United are expecting players to leave this summer after suffering relegation with Brenden Aaronson likely to go.
That is according to The Athletic, who report that Aaronson has a relegation release clause in his Leeds contract.
The report adds that sources are expecting that release clause to be activated with Aaronson surely on his way out.
Leeds suffered relegation on Sunday afternoon as they were thrashed 4-1 at home by Tottenham Hotspur.
Leeds would have gone down even with a win as Everton were able to beat Bournemouth 1-0 to save themselves.
The Whites can expect plenty of changes this summer and it looks like Aaronson will be one of the first to go.

Brenden Aaronson to Leeds United just hasn’t worked out
Leeds placed a keen focus on signing Aaronson in 2022 and even wanted him in the January of that year.
Red Bull Salzburg wouldn’t sell at that point but did eventually agree a £25million deal to sell Aaronson to Leeds.
That came just four days after Leeds secured their Premier League status with a last-day win at Brentford.
Leeds were hoping to really kick on from that point and make sure they weren’t in a similar position in a year’s time.
Sadly, Aaronson wasn’t able to do all that much to lift Leeds.
Aaronson did start 28 games but only managed one goal and three assists whilst looking far too lightweight for the Premier League.
Aaronson didn’t start a single game under Sam Allardyce and it may be that the 22-year-old just isn’t suited to English football.
We would expect plenty of interest from Germany, where American players tend to thrive, and Aaronson’s brother is now with Eintracht Frankfurt.
It’s unclear just how much the lease clause in Aaronson’s deal is worth but if Leeds can recoup their money, most fans would take that now.
