According to El Nacional, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is looking for a way out of Arsenal, with Barcelona keen to sign him.

What’s the story?

Well, El Nacional believe the £250,000-a-week man is uncomfortable under Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium.

It comes amid a time where Barcelona are looking to sign an emergency striker, as Sergio Agüero was unexpectedly ruled out for three months.

The Argentina international is suffering with arrhythmia, and following a cardiac exam, must spend the next three months on the sidelines (ESPN).

As a result, Barcelona have identified Edinson Cavani and Aubameyang as potential replacements.

You can see why Barcelona want the 66-cap Gabon international.

So far this season, Aubameyang has looked back to his best with seven goals in ten appearances across all competitions.

What should Arsenal do with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang?

At first, it sounds bizarre to consider selling Aubameyang, given the form the £56m man is currently in.

However, if an attractive offer arrives from Barcelona, the Gunners must give it some serious thought.

Aubameyang turns 33 in June, and as we saw when Alexis Sanchez went to Manchester United, some forward can look a shadow of themselves when they reach a certain age.

Edu and Arteta must try to envisage what Aubameyang’s future holds.

If Arsenal reject an offer from Barcelona, and their No.14 then goes on to have a woeful season in 2022/23 while earning £250,000-a-week, it would be a poor decision.

Keep an eye on this saga, as Joan Laporta is desperately searching for an Agüero replacement.
