Rangers are reportedly set to sign Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack.
Ryan Jack celebrates after scoring for Aberdeen
According to the Sunday Post, Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack will undergo a medical with Rangers in the next 72 hours in order to complete his move to Ibrox.
The Gers are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer, given that they will only finish third in the Scottish Premiership, and new manager Pedro Caixinha will want to bring in his own players.
A number of areas of the Rangers team need strengthening, but central midfield has been a problem area given that Joey Barton was released after just eight games, Niko Kranjcar and Jordan Rossiter have missed the majority of the season through injury, Matt Crooks was loaned out to Scunthorpe and both Jon Toral and Emerson Hyndman have returned to parent clubs Arsenal and Bournemouth respectively.
Caixinha needs to be able to built his midfield around somebody given Rossiter’s injury issues, and it seems that he is closing in on his first signing as Rangers boss.

The Sunday Post report that Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack will undergo a medical with Rangers over the next 72 hours, ahead of penning a pre-contract agreement with the club.
Jack, 25, has come up through the ranks with hometown club Aberdeen, racking up nearly 250 appearances for the club whilst scoring 11 goals, mostly serving as a more defensive-minded midfielder.
Celtic’s Scott Brown (L) in action with Aberdeen’s Ryan Jack
The Scot’s contract with Aberdeen expires at the end of the season, and he will seemingly put pen-to-paper on a deal with Rangers, which will activate on the 1st of July.
It’s claimed that Caixinha thinks Jack will add balance to his midfield, and the Gers will certainly be pleased to have taken a captain off a key rival without paying a penny for his signature this summer.
