Well, we’re into the final furlong of the January transfer window and Tanguy Ndombele’s Tottenham Hotspur future remains somewhat uncertain.
Since Antonio Conte arrived at Hotspur Way in early November, Ndombele has struggled in a massive way to impress the Italian manager.
Coaches at Tottenham all believe that the French midfielder is a major talent but despite his ability, producing it on a regular basis has proven difficult for the former Lyon powerhouse.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino – who brought him to North London – has been heavily linked with a reunion, while Everton have also emerged as a surprise alternative.
However, an initial loan to the Ligue 1 outfit seems most probable, considering Daniel Levy would virtually never strengthen a fellow Premier League team – especially on loan.
According to The Evening Standard, Ndombele himself fancies a transfer to PSG.
The report published on Wednesday has stated that Kylian Mbappe’s presence at the club makes it a very appealing option for the 25-year-old.
Ndombele and Mbappe are close friends and it seems like teaming up with the £166 million attacker is a viable scenario at this point.
Should he go?
Honestly, yes.
Ndombele is Tottenham’s all-time record signing at £63 million, and Levy would absolutely hate to give up hope on the player ever coming good.
However, there comes a point where you have to concede defeat and the truth is that Ndombele has struggled for consistency under every single manager he has played for at the Lilywhites – Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Conte.
Therefore, the problem is and always has been Ndombele and only a change of scenery might reinvigorate the player.
