Report: 25-year-old Arsenal star is Andrea Pirlo’s favourite summer target

Arsenal still have a lot to do in the transfer market before the season starts in less than three weeks. The Gunners’ finances have been hit hard, increasing the need to sell a few players before they can buy this summer.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is reportedly on his way to Wolves (Sky Sports) and the Gunners will look to offload a few others before the transfer window shuts in October.

The Times reported earlier today that Arsenal have offered Hector Bellerin to French champions Paris Saint-Germain. The Gunners are looking to reduce their wage bill and the Spanish full-back is one player who could be sacrificed as a result.

PSG would be an excellent destination for Bellerin who, like every other footballer, would love to get his hands on silverware every season. However, the French giants are not the only side interested in the Arsenal man.

Calcio Mercato claim that Juventus are very interested in signing the Spaniard. It is claimed that new boss Andrea Pirlo has personally asked for Bellerin, who is ‘his favourite’ right-back target this summer.

Juventus chief Fabio Paratici was in London last week and the report claims he had deep discussions with Arsenal over a potential move for Bellerin in the coming weeks.

The former Barcelona man is not ‘unsellable’ but the report says that Arsenal’s valuation of him is pretty high. Juventus will have to spend a lot of money to land Bellerin this summer, as he still has three years left on his deal.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. If Maitland-Niles does complete his move to Wolves, Arsenal will only have Bellerin and Cedric Soares as their options at right-back.

Two natural right-backs are a necessity for a season in which Arsenal could play over 50 games across all competitions. The Gunners might just hold on to the Spaniard as a result. But, if Juventus or PSG come in with a big offer, it will likely be accepted.
