According to Corriere dello Sport, Érik Lamela wants to return to Italy, and has been in close contact with a number of clubs in Serie A.
The Italian news outlet claim that the £25.7 million man has been in ‘intense’ talks with Napoli, while discussions have also been held with AC Milan.
Corriere dello Sport even state that Lamela is about to buy a house in Rome, with his former side Roma another potential destination.
The £80,000-a-week man’s contract in north London expires in 2022.
If Tottenham don’t sell him this summer, they run the risk of losing him for nothing unless he signs a new deal.
It seems unlikely that he’d do that, seeing as he supposedly wants to leave.

Lamela has struggled this season due to a number of injuries.
The 25-cap Argentina international has only scored four goals in 31 appearances, along with just one assist.
At 29 years of age, Lamela probably only has one more big move left in him, before he enters his thirties and becomes less attractive as an asset.

By the sounds of it, he’s keen to make this move now.
It will be a shame to see him go after eight years at the club.
However, he is far from a vital player, so Spurs shouldn’t be too upset by his desire to leave.
