James Lea Siliki wants to join Watford from Ligue 1 Rennes and is pushing for a move to the Championship rather than Belgian giants Anderlecht, as reported by France Football.
The Hornets may have lacked sting this season but, despite a series of underwhelming performances and fortunate results, Xisco Munoz’s team are still third in the table and well placed to secure automatic promotion.
And reports from across the Channel suggest Watford could boost their top-two hopes by signing a technically gifted midfielder who played Champions League football in the first half of 2020/21.
Lea Siliki has fallen out of favour at Rennes.
And, despite interest from Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht, Watford is his preferred destination.

The Hertfordshire outfit is keen to strike a deal for the 24-year-old, although it remains to be seen whether Rennes will let him go on a permanent basis midway though a gruelling campaign.
Interestingly, Porto failed with a £7 million bid for Lea Siliki in summer 2019.
It remains to be seen how much Watford would have to pay for his signature 18 months on.
