Albian Ajeti has taken a big pay cut to join Celtic, according to Sky Sports.

Ajeti has moved to Celtic on a permanent deal from West Ham United, with the striker looking to get regular game time again.

Ajeti appears to have put his footballing development ahead of money with the move to Parkhead, as he is on significantly less than the £60,000-a-week deal that he was given at the London Stadium just last summer.

Sky claim that Celtic weren’t the only team in for Ateji either, despite his poor season at West Ham.

A clutch of Premier League sides had wanted to take the Swiss forward from the Hammers, but it was Celtic who ultimately got a deal over the line.

Ajeti has struggled for goals in England, but Celtic have obviously seen something in the Swiss striker which makes them think that he could be a valuable addition.

Neil Lennon felt that the Bhoys needed more firepower and Ajeti should compete with Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths for a place in his starting line-up.
