Konstantinos Mavropanos will not be at Arsenal next season, Football London report.

Mavropanos has impressed during a loan spell away from Arsenal this season with Stuttgart in Germany.

However, it seems that Mikel Arteta still doesn’t consider the Greek part of his plans.

With Arsenal now apparently planning a clear out, Mavropanos is one of the names who is set to depart.

Football London say that the 23-year-old will either leave on loan or on a permanent deal.

That may come as a surprise to many, as Football London reported just last month that he would be given a chance over pre-season, but it seems Arteta has now completely changed his mind.

Good decision?

Arsenal’s backline has been far from rock solid this term.

Arteta has tinkered with a number of different central defensive pairings and Mavropanos’s performances in Germany have suggested that he could have what it takes to play a role at the Emirates Stadium.

But with Rob Holding, Gabriel, Pablo Mari, Calum Chambers and William Saliba all potentially to be involved at Arsenal next term – the Gunners are well stocked in central defence.

If Arteta is wanting to bring in another central defender, then it was always likely that he would need to reduce the numbers in that position.

And it seems that Mavropanos will have to prove his worth away from the Emirates Stadium now, as he looks certain to leave according to the latest update.
