Tottenham Hotspur target Robin Koch has now made it clear that he will not sign a new contract with Freiburg, according to Kicker.
Freiburg’s sporting director had told Heidelberg last week that he wanted to keep Koch, but it seems that his current side are fighting a losing battle – with his current deal set to expire next year.
That should be music to the ears of Tottenham, with Jose Mourinho reportedly very keen on the 24-year-old.
Koch is eyeing up a ‘new challenge’ and Tottenham are now among the sides battling it out for his signature, according to the latest reports in Germany.
Koch would be keen on a move to Spurs, The Sun suggested last month, and it seems that the transfer could well take place this summer, if Mourinho’s side push to sign the £22 million-rated defender.

Tottenham do seem to be hunting for a new centre-back this summer, with Jan Vertonghen seemingly set to depart.
Koch would be a strong addition as he has looked rock solid over the past campaign in Germany, and at his current price he looks like a real bargain.
